Pancake feed at church this afternoon and then mostly just hanging out with the kids. We took a little time to try out a pin for the 30 Day Pinterest Challenge. I&#8217;m totally loving having a commitment to getting a little something done each day. It&#8217;s fun that they are outside of my regular shop projects. It almost feels like doing something for me. Today&#8217;s was more for the kids though.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachpreschool.org\/2012\/03\/rainbow-slime-in-preschool\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.teachpreschool.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/How-to-Make-Slime-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We started with this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/pin\/30328997463921776\/\">pin<\/a> on pinterest. There are a number of similar ones available, but they all have the same basic idea. Equal parts glue and liquid starch with a little food coloring. Easy enough right? I have a vague recollection of doing this in middle school science class.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Up front this is not a quick and tidy experiment. Because Turkey has sensory issues this meant A LOT of hand washing for us. I&#8217;m sure it would&#8217;ve been quicker had it not been for this minor hang up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We gathered our supplies:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.turkandbean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1452.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-657\" src=\"http:\/\/www.turkandbean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1452-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"DSCN1452\" width=\"584\" height=\"438\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.turkandbean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1452-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.turkandbean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1452-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.turkandbean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1452-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I totally lamented that the clear school glue cost like 3 times as much as the regular stuff. It&#8217;s robbery I swear! You may recall that I make my own <a title=\"Homemade Laundry Starch\" href=\"http:\/\/www.turkandbean.com\/blog\/homemade-laundry-starch\/\">homemade laundry starch<\/a>, but we lucked out and Grandpa had some we could borrow. I was excited to try out our neon food dyes. I also decided it would be fun to add a little flavoring to make them smell yummy. I was really proud of Turkey for actually getting his hands into it. even though he doesn&#8217;t like for his hands to be icky like that. He was having an extra good day today. He never likes to wear button up shirts because of the way they feel, but today he was willing to dress up for church. He even put on a funny little clip on tie.
